 (1) Jacob Golladay received a land patent for 160 acres in Mecosta County on 10 March 1857. While his family has not been found in the 1860 census, it appears that Jacob was living in Michigan at this time. Jacob's father was Abraham Golladay and his mother was Catherine Birely of Franklin County, Pennsylvania. On 01 May 1858, Jacob's father Abraham also received a land patent for 240 acres in Mecosta County.  

(2) The Union Civil War Draft Registrations Records of 1863-1865 lists Jacob's son "James Golladay, age 20" as a farmer living in Green, Michigan.
