Frances (Frank) was a farmer and was born in Tennessee. He was married when he enlisted in the Confederate Army on 30 August 1862 at Camp Karny. He was transferred to Colonel Henderson on 13 September 1862.

It is not known what happened, but Frank left the military and moved from Henry County during the war. The Union Civil War Draft Registrations Records of 1863 shows him in Lebanon Township in Cooper County, Missouri.

Sometime after 1891, Frank moved to Butler, Missouri. He died there on his farm on 16 May 1893.
